This Privacy Policy describes how CineSense ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information: email address, username, and authentication tokens from Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email/password sign-up.
• Activity: your reactions to movies (loved, watched, watchlist, pass), filters you apply, and friend connections you make.
• Communications: feedback or messages you send us via the in-app feedback feature or email.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: device model, operating system, app version, language, crash reports, and anonymized usage analytics, collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
• Advertising identifiers: used to deliver and measure ads via Google AdMob. You can reset or limit these identifiers in your device settings.

Information from third parties

• The Movie Database (TMDB): movie metadata (titles, posters, cast, synopses).
• JustWatch: streaming-provider availability data.
• Firebase: authentication and data storage.

How we use your information

• To provide core app functionality (saving your movie reactions, computing taste profiles, matching friends).
• To personalize recommendations and surface relevant content.
• To communicate with you about the app and respond to support requests.
• To measure, maintain, and improve the app.
• To show advertisements and measure their performance.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers acting on our behalf (e.g., Firebase, Google AdMob, analytics providers).
• Other users: your username, taste statistics, and reactions are visible to friends you connect with.
• Authorities when required by law or to protect the safety or rights of users.

Analytics and crash reporting

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (for example, which screens are viewed and which features are used) so we can improve it, and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash and error reports that help us fix stability issues. These tools collect device, usage, and diagnostic data as described above, and are operated by Google as our service provider. We do not use this data to identify you to advertisers.

Your choices

• Account deletion: you can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing [email protected].
• Ad personalization: adjust advertising ID settings on your device to opt out of personalized ads.
• Access and correction: contact us at the address above to request a copy of your data or corrections.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and reactions within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Children

CineSense is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

International users

CineSense is operated from Argentina. Your information may be processed in Argentina, the United States, and other countries where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.

If you are in Argentina, we process your personal data in accordance with Personal Data Protection Law No. 25.326. You have the right to access, rectify, update, and delete your data, and you may lodge a complaint with the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (AAIP), the supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
